The Radio Times Guide to Science Fiction:

An unremarkable but nicely played apocalyptic tale with an understated green message. The setting is the near future, where the inhabitants are paying the price for the previous generation's ecological misakes. Struggling to survive against the forces of nature - plus the regulation post-apocalypse psychos - are an ordinary American family, headed by Craig T Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia. There are plenty of canny actors in supporting roles, so it's a shame that the direction is so formulaic. Originally screened as a two-part (2 x 120mins) mini-series.
