Musician Harry Washello finds the woman of his dreams - and then picks up a ringing public telephone to learn that the US has started a nuclear war and the end of the world is only an hour away. Cue lots of panic as Harry tries to get him and his new found love on the last military transport out of L.A. heading for a secret bunker somewhere in the arctic circle.

It sounds silly - it is silly and it was hated by the critics, but if you can suspend disbelief and your critical faculties for an hour an a half (get a really BIG box of popcorn!) it is enjoyable for the will-they-live-or-will-they-die last 45 minutes
