The following TV shows and films do not fit MY definition of "end of the world". They are either general disaster themes, other science fiction, or simply set far to far AFTER the event. I am interested in books, TV and film that deal with the event itself and the following days, months and years, but not into the hundreds of years. I am interested in stories of people struggling to survive, of rebuilding, etc.
