Set five years after the "Great Death" of the original book and TV series, Genesis of a Hero charts the fortunes of Peter, son of Abby Grant from the first book. It spans a number of years and we get to see what happened to a number of characters from the first book, including Tom Price, Arthur Wormley and Sarah Boyer (whose character was changed in the TV series).

Overall, an excellent book which serves as a good "round up" as to what happened after the original book ended. My only problem with the book was that I missed all the characters I knew so well from the first book and from the TV series! No fault of the book itself, I guess.

Neither the first nor this book follow the exact same lines as the final TV series.
